Lets talk about your 2016 resume. Can I assume your current document is up to par? It has a headline that succinctly describes what you do and your expertise, or specialization, e.g., Online Gaming Marketing Executive Pacific Rim Specialist. Under the headline, you have a brief narrative promoting who you are and what you can do for an employer. You have followed this up with three columns, each with a list of skills you bring to the table social media, Java, team leadership, etc. Then, and only then, you start with the chronological listing of your employers, positions, and contributions.
For example if you worked in a store part-time express your performance in terms of how you over-performed in sales revenue (averaged over $500 sales a week - the highest performing assistant), 100% attendance and commendation for customer service (great moment to slip in a testimonial from your then boss!).
Be very specific about why you are a good fit for the advertised position, how the company would profit by hiring you, the dates you joined and left your previous jobs, achievements and accomplishments that would strengthen your application.Top 7 Reasons Resumes Fail to Get the Interview
