Sure, potential employers want to know what you have done over the years, but including a position you held 30 years ago (before Internet was even invented) to sell you for a job today just does not make sense.
Nothing will gain attention faster in a tight economy than telling an employer how much money you'll make for them. Many companies justify executive pay precisely on the ROI that they expect you to deliver.
But you not only know what it took to perform your tasks at your previous jobs, you also know your particular industry better than a resume writer whose industry is . . . well, resume writing.
